As Anchorage’s largest homebuilder, Hultquist Homes has spent 45 years building more than 4,500 homes across Alaska and Washington. Led by Dave Hultquist and his son Cody Hultquist, their unwavering commitment to Alaska is rooted in value-based practices and quality craftsmanship.
Since 1980, Hultquist Homes has invested in Alaska and built some of Anchorage’s most established neighborhoods. From single-family homes, modern garage condos, and custom builds, each project reflects the unique spirit of Alaska.
“After 45 years of business, other builders have come and gone, abandoning their responsibilities to Alaska, while we continue to honor our agreements to buyers, sellers, subcontractors and lenders. It’s easier in the short-term to leave, but we’re here for future generations,” says owner and founder Dave Hultquist. His dedication to Anchorage runs deep. He’s consistently stood by Anchorage, facing challenges head-on like the ongoing housing shortage and the growing demand for quality senior living.

Hultquist Homes recently transformed a former Anchorage office building into “The Emerald,” an assisted living home for Alaskan seniors and those with disabilities. This cutting-edge, office-to-residential conversion, located in Midtown Anchorage, was intentionally designed for Alaskans. At The Emerald, the rugged beauty of Alaska unfolds right outside your window, offering the comfort of home with an unparalleled connection to the land and spirit of our great state.
“At The Emerald, we believe every day in Alaska is a gift, an opportunity to further enjoy the place we call home. Our mission is to ensure that Alaskans cherish each moment in comfort and joy, supported by the kind of care we’d want for our own family,” Cody Hultquist, general manager, explains.
Building Excellence Through Teamwork

At Hultquist Homes, every home is a testament to the power of teamwork. The entire staff has a shared passion for crafting high-quality residences, ensuring that every family has a home that’s built to last. Whether it’s a first-time buyer stepping into homeownership or a multimillion-dollar custom build, Hultquist Homes ensures that the process is personal, transparent, and rewarding. When you choose Hultquist Homes, you’re working with a team of genuine people dedicated to client satisfaction.
“Our team is driven by a relentless pursuit of excellence,” says Joseph Robillard, project manager. It’s a sentiment echoed across every level of our workforce. From the skilled team members to trusted subcontractors, the Hultquist Homes team has the experience, skills, and reputation of delivering on their promise to build homes that Alaskans are proud to own.

Firm Foundation
Hultquist Homes stands firm in its commitment to integrity and building upon a foundation of trust. “Building a home involves countless variables including materials, timelines and regulations,” Cody Hultquist notes. “For 45 years, we’ve navigated those complexities by staying true to our values.” This principle has guided the company through economic ups and downs, earning them the trust of homeowners across Alaska.
A Future of Hope
Hultquist Homes is at the forefront of development in Alaska, with plans to construct 50 new homes across seven locations this year. Some of their current projects include Canyon View near Flattop Mountain, Equestrian Heights off Goldenview Road, Sky Ridge off O’Malley Road near the Abbott O Rabbit Fields, Eagle Bluff next to the Eagle River, and Base Camp 907 condos off the Glenn Highway. As Anchorage faces a critical housing shortage, Hultquist Homes is actively seeking new projects to help meet Mayor Suzanne LaFrance's goal of creating 10,000 new residences. They’re committed to pioneering innovative housing solutions and building a stronger future for Alaska.

Made in Alaska
In a constant effort to improve the building and buying process, Dave Hultquist started Firebird Realty, run by Tate Rogers and Raven Mortgage, run by Casey Hultquist because he saw an opportunity to streamline the buying process and ultimately save the buyer time and money. To date, Firebird Realty has saved a total of $8.5 million dollars in commissions for local buyers and the Raven Mortgage team is serving up the best possible rates to Alaskans all across this great state.
After 45 years of homebuilding, Hultquist Homes is still standing on a firm foundation of integrity and innovation that Alaskans can trust for a bright future of housing.
