Anchorage’s Home Builders Make Christmas Possible forAnchorage Children with Annual Event

(Anchorage)

WHO: Anchorage Home Builders Association

WHAT: Shoebox Program Shopping

WHEN: Thursday, Dec. 12, 3:00 p.m.

WHERE: Walmart, 8900 Old Seward Hwy, Anchorage, AK 99515

The Anchorage Home Builders Association is proud to give back to Anchorage families through its annual Shoebox Program. By collecting donations from our members, we’re able to purchase gifts and other necessities for students identified as “in-need” within the Anchorage School District.

Tonight, AHBA-member volunteers will shop for hundreds of children. They will buy toys, clothing and toiletries to ensure that these students have a happy holiday with something to open under the tree. On Dec. 16, 2024, volunteers will stuff backpacks with the items purchased tonight. AHBA will then donate 1,000 backpacks to ASD students.

This year’s AHBA Shoebox Program is dedicated to the memory of Larry Partusch who passed away over the summer. Partusch founded Partusch Plumbing & Heating. He was passionate about serving the Anchorage community, especially when it came to supporting youth. Partusch was a huge supporter of the Shoebox Program.

AHBA representatives welcome interviews during tonight’s shopping efforts or the backpack stuffing event.
