Building Alaska Forward: AIH’s Continued Investment in Service, Safety and Community

For more than six decades, Alaska Industrial Hardware has played a vital role in supporting the people and projects that shape Alaska. In a world increasingly dominated by national chains, AIH remains proudly Alaska-owned and Alaska-operated, committing to reinvesting in local jobs, industry and communities.

What began as a small operation serving Anchorage has now grown into a statewide network focused on accessibility, reliability and customer-first service. In 2025, AIH reinforced that commitment through strategic investments in its locations, technology and teams, ensuring customers can work safer, smarter and more efficiently.

Statewide Locations Designed for Modern Workflows

AIH operates locations in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Kenai, Juneau, Wasilla and Eagle River, giving customers access to dependable inventory and knowledgeable staff across the state. Several of these locations have received significant upgrades aimed at improving the in-store experience and operational efficiency.

AIH completed a full remodel of the Fairbanks store, along with facility enhancements in Wasilla and Eagle River, including modernized layouts and improved product accessibility. These improvements reflect AIH’s prioritization of customer feedback and contractor relationships, which is how the company keeps pace with how Alaskans operate.

Digital and Operational Improvements That Save Time

Recognizing that time is one of the most valuable resources on any jobsite,  AIH introduced new digital tools in 2025 to help customers plan and purchase more efficiently. Online, store-specific product location tracking allows customers to see availability by location before arriving. This reduces guesswork, delays and wasted time. Time is money and AIH understands that.

AIH has more exciting website updates on the way. The website is currently

undergoing a full revamp to offer expanded delivery options, enhanced search features, improved product filtering and online order placement. These improvements bridge the gap between online convenience and in-store expertise.

Inventory Expansion Featuring Trusted Brands

AIH continues to invest heavily in inventory to ensure critical tools and equipment are available when they are needed. We understand that when you’re in the middle of a project, you don’t want to waste time waiting for a product to ship to Alaska. In 2025, AIH carried more than $25 million in on-hand inventory, reinforcing the company’s commitment to product availability across Alaska.

Safety, Service and On-Site Expertise

Safety remains a cornerstone of AIH’s mission. In 2025, the company expanded safety initiatives and increased the availability of on-site consultations across all locations. These services allow customers to receive expert guidance on products, compliance and jobsite safety. AIH is more than a supplier; it is an industry partner. Behind the scenes, AIH also invested in employee training and documentation to ensure consistent, high-quality service statewide.

Rooted in Community, Invested in Alaska

As an Alaska Native-owned business,  AIH’s commitment to Alaska extends far beyond the jobsite. The company’s local ownership means decisions are made here and investments stay here. We proudly support jobs, organizations and local communities. In the past year, AIH supported local initiatives, including the Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity and the Native Women’s Association of Alaska, helping advance food security, housing stability and women-led programs statewide.

That same commitment shows up through hands-on community engagement. AIH is a proud sponsor of the Iron Dog race, one of Alaska’s most iconic endurance events. AIH also hosted a holiday-season Women’s Night designed to welcome more women into the store, build confidence in navigating tools and supplies and foster meaningful connections while giving back to local causes. Together, these efforts reflect a long-standing belief that building Alaska since day one means investing in people, not just projects. These partnerships reinforce AIH’s belief that supporting Alaska extends beyond the jobsite.
