Speaker: Senator Tom Carper has served as the senior United States Senator from Delaware since 2001. A member of the Democratic Party, he served in the United States House of Representatives from 1983 to 1993 and was the 71st governor of Delaware from 1993 to 2001. Senator Carper is the Chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee (EPW) in the Senate. The EPW Committee has jurisdiction over important issues impacting our industry, such as "waters of the US," Endangered Species Act reform and transportation and infrastructure issues.
