Education

The Education Committee develops seminars and educational events to provide the membership with learning opportunities. They also conduct an annual search to award a $4,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior to continue secondary schooling.

CLASS OFFERINGS:

Certified Green Professional (CGP) Designation Course
Date: Wednesday - Friday, May 21-23
Time: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Location: AHBA Office

This course is for builders, remodelers, and other industry professionals, and will be taught by NAHB instructor, Mike Weiss. Participants will learn strategies for incorporating green building principles into homes without driving up the cost of construction. It will provide a solid background in green building methods and give you the tools to reach consumers.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS:
One scholarship in the amount of $4,000 will be awarded to a graduating high school student who is affiliated with the Anchorage Home Builders Association. The Education Committee will review applications at their May 1 meeting. All applicants will be notified of the outcome.
